Mr. Carmack Opens Up About His Musical Background For The Operatives’ SOUNDCHECK Series
By Khal. Back in April, Mr. Carmack hit the Australian/New Zealand circuit for a sick seven-date tour. As you can see below, he’s set to hit that part of the globe next week, so it’s dope that The Operatives hooked up the latest edition of their SOUNDCHECK series with Carmack, who took some time to break down his musical background (which includes the French horn and the Japanese drum), as well as his start in “computer” music. He also comments on how “artsy” things are becoming—which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s dope to catch a glimpse of how Carmack sees the world, in his own voice.
10 Essential Mr. Carmack Tracks By HotNewHipHop.Com

His music is best described as it is on Facebook, in that it can "make you dance, make you feel, make you crave, make you sad, make you think, make you jump, make you love the way I do." Whether he's crafting the soundtrack for the next massive party or an early morning chill session, he's got some incredible skill. His ability to craft music all over the scale of "0 to 100" is second to none. Let's take a peak in to Mr. Carmack's productions with his 10 Essential Tracks.
01 - 112 - Dance With Me (Mr. Carmack Remix) (14') Carmack flipped a 112 track in to something fresh and funky for the beat-heads.
02 - Mr. Carmack - Reputation (14') Mr. Carmack makes music from outer space. This one might feature an alien.
03 - Mr. Carmack - Rocket (aka Robb Banks 3/5) (14') Mr. Carmack can even make Kendrick Lamar sound like more of an alien than he already does. This one gets all sorts of trippy.
04 - Mr. Carmack - Pay (For What) (13') He can also make music that sounds a little more like what's usually played in the clubs...it's just way better. This one doesn't stray too far from the EDM trap stuff, but it's definitely a fresh take on that sound.
05 - Mr. Carmack - The Next Morning (12') Mr. Carmack goes full synth on "The Next Morning." The piercing stabs aren't painful though, and are soothed out throughout the mostly chill cut.
06 - Mr. Carmack - Grind (Lex) (13') A lot of Carmack's tracks are definitely made for turning up the party, but "Grind" isn't really one of those. A smooth, J Dilla-meets-FlyLo cut goes a long way when you're known for inciting intergalactic travel with your tunes.
07 - Mr. Carmack - Bang (13') "Bang" does just that...BANG. If you can listen to the whole thing without throwin' your hands up, you're a stronger man than I.
08 - Mr. Carmack - Uppers feat. Stooki Sound (12') If a song ever NEEDED a "Damn SON! Where'd ya find this?" it is "Uppers." I have no earthly idea where they found these noises, but that's probably because there is nothing earthly about it.
09 - Mr. Carmack - At Night (11') Proving once again that not every track has to be a club-ready banger, "At Night" is one of the smoothest joints you could ever wish for. It is stunning in its beauty.
10 - Mr. Carmack - The Next Afternoon (13') You know how sometimes you party the next morning and wake up "The Next Afternoon"? Well next time you have one of those all-nighters, pass out and then wake back up sometime in the PM, play this song when you hop out of bed...You'll get it.

How Timbaland Influenced Mr. Carmack & Co.

By Bobby Gray. Bass Music, Trap, Future Beats, whatever internet tags are making producers call their work right now, a crop of the freshest genre-bending electronic music of recent years owes a lot to the legacy of Virginia producer Timothy Mosley aka Timbaland. Not in any way a creative obituary or tribute to the retired, Timbaland as you know is very much in the game and working away constantly but the best of his collected work, the professional and creative attitude of this person has inspired a generation of beat makers to turn expectation on its head, break popular music rules and follow the beat of their own drum.
Either referenced as an influence directly or otherwise, for music fans and creators that cut their teeth listening to his groundbreaking partnerships with artists like Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and of course Missy Elliott at the turn of the millenium and beyond Timbaland taps into something that sees his underdog nature resonate through some of the most exciting up-and-comers rising through the ranks.

His best releases often sounding years ahead of it's time Timbaland's catalogue stands as a motivation for others to either follow in his footsteps or take his achievements in production even further and hopefully, in turn inspire the man himself to move things into new territory once again. Speaking to Complex Magazine a few years ago SBTRKT, when hit with the regular influences question dropped a common answer amongst his contemporaries "I love Timbaland's stuff. N*E*R*D was a really big influence.
They were artists that were able to establish their own sound and also produce for other people. The ambitiousness of their songs really inspired me. It's something soulful, but it trips up and does something original and unique every time." Last year Sweater Beats dropped a Timbaland only mix to make tribute to the influence he had on his work, the producer Falcons tongue-in-cheekly refers to his sound as "Post-Timbaland-step-bounce" and Mr. Carmack can go one further with the artist that took Timbaland onto the popular landscape for the first time with the classic Pony (Via Joe Kay).
The Timbaland name is synonymous with trusting creative risk with rhythm and popular sound, finding the best results with an outside the box approach and the mix below for you to enjoy is a celebration of those qualities. A selection of originals, remixes and edits of the Timbaland catalogue as well as a stack of some of the strongest artists carrying his legacy forward.

Mr. Carmack - Exodus (EP) (2014)

‘Intrep’ features Evil Needle and is the Alternate Version to Needle’s ‘Intrepidity’ tune from the ‘Qualla’ release back in 2013, then there is ‘Triassic’, that tune has been released last year in the Summer following the ‘10 Days Of Ogazumu’ project, which was titled as ‘Day Seven: Awe's ''Jurassic''. ‘Free Baby’ is a tune that’s been out since January for a couple of days, before Aaron removed it from his Soundcloud Page and it’s been called ‘I Found A Free Baby In The Trash Can’, and the last tune titled ‘100 Degrees’ features Mikos Da Gawd, which is also from the 2013 Summer release of the ’10 Days Of Ogazumu’ project, which has been tagged as ‘Day Nine: Sentimental Seasons’. Nonetheless, make sure to cop the release and support Aaron on his BandCamp Site.
